Just wanted to pop in and thank everyone who has kept our first dog baby, Niles, in your thoughts and prayers. He had surgery yesterday to repair a ruptured disc and the surgery went welll! His back legs had gone limp again and we're hoping the surgery did the trick and he'll be walking again soon! He's staying at the vet for another 2-3 days and they're keeping a 24 hour watch on him and calling me with updates. The update I just got from the vet is that he actually ate breakfast this morning and that makes me so happy - he had zero appetite for a couple days before surgery. Thanks again and keep sending good vibes his way!!

Our pups have big ol' talons too. haha. I need to get them to the groomer.
I'm so sorry to hear this. My friend is in a Doxie club, so I've actually heard quite a bit about this. One of her friend's dogs was completely paralyzed in the rear legs, and over hears of physical therapy and hydrotherapy, she is able to walk again. I'm thinking about you and praying for you and your little guy!
Glad he is doing well! PS Niles always makes me think of Niles from The Nanny :)
My dachshund makes that same face! Glad to hear he is doing better. Is it just me or do dachshund's nails grow SUPER FAST?
