We're official!

Apr 12, 2014

9 years after we met.
8 years after we started dating.
4 1/2 years after we got engaged.
2 1/2 years after we bought our first house.
2 years after we had our baby girl.

We finally did it.

We got married yesterday!!!!!

// mr. and mrs. c.a.s.h. 4-11-14 //

I can't even tell you how happy I am that we made it official. We really have felt like a married couple from the moment we moved in together and felt like a real family the moment I found out I was pregnant but THIS, this makes it official and we are so so happy. I finally get to share a last name with my now HUSBAND and our daughter! Marriage wasn't a necessity for us but I'm glad we made it happen. Yay marriage!

I can't even handle it.

I really wish Baby Gap could make this swimsuit just a teeeeeny A LOT bigger so that I could get one too. Is it not the cutest thing ever? Is SHE not the cutest thing ever??? (You don't have to answer that. That's just the crazy mom talking.)

I am in awe of this girl. She is learning so much lately and I'm so blown away by the constant talk/babble coming out of her mouth (things like "bay" - baby, "pa" - light, "min" - "moon", "mine" - mine :), how she knows exactly where to point when we say "mama's nose/eyes", "daddy's beard/nose" and "outside", her constant dancing,  how she's learning what "hot" means, how she gets so excited to play outside, how her walking gets better every day, how she's now trying to jump in place, how she now has 13 teeth!!, her sweet little voice...her chunky legs...her smile...her curls. I would love nothing more than to just bottle her up at this age (I'd throw out the tantrums and crappy sleep but that's neither here nor there) and keep it forever. Everything about her is happiness and I am so grateful for her and the privilege to watch her learn and grow every day. We are so completely in love with you, little girl!!

Sappy post brought to you by our makeshift pool day yesterday, a la Brittany :) Violet's future husband Harrison seemed to love this pool-in-a-bin so I thought she would too. Not so much. Being outside in her bathing suit was happiness enough for her and for me too.

her 1st birthday.

Mar 5, 2013

So Violet's party was this past Sunday and while I won't call it a FAIL, I have to say it definitely did not go as planned. I was going to talk about it today but since this post ended up being picture heavy enough, I'll wait on the party talk for another post.

For now, let's talk about Thursday - V's actual birthday ;)

I had decorated around the house and she woke up in the BEST MOOD. I think all sadness I had over her turning 1 was gone the moment she smiled at me that morning :) She is a little fool.

After we had some breakfast, we took her to her 12 month appointment and she had her shots (I know, evil parents doing that to her on her birthday but I was already taking the day off and it worked out ok?) so afterwards we sat in the car trying to cheer her up for a bit and it didn't take long for her to knock out. Ronnie and I then ate a fabulously romantic lunch of Panda Express in the car while she napped. When she woke up, she was in the BEST MOOD again. I swear it's like she knew it was her birthday. ha So then we took her for some froyo and she had the best time. Cutest thing ever.

We decided to then take her to the Zoo but got there and decided it was too windy and chilly for it so we just stopped by some nearby antique stores (I'm sure this is exactly how V wanted to celebrate.) and then headed home. The rest of the day was spent being lazy, playing, eating pizza, trying to take some pictures of her. It was such a fun day!
Why yes, the only things that would keep her sitting still were my phone and her baba.
Please tell me how you got your kids off the bottle. Whatever we're doing ain't working.
We didn't do anything crazy special but I think it was the perfect way to spend her day with her. I still can't believe we have a ONE YEAR OLD!! Looking back now, we could've been done with just that day of celebrating - no party necessary. But, we were having a party and still had that to get ready for...More to come on that!

Go enter my giveaway, y'all! Chip & Chisel jewelry is the best and you can win $50 to her shop!

One year old.

Feb 28, 2013

One year ago today our baby girl arrived at 3:31 pm (the time I scheduled this post :) and our lives were changed forever.

It has been a year of more worry, laughter, tears, happiness and love than I ever could have imagined and it all went by too fast! Our teeny 6 pounder may be long gone but she has been replaced by a hilarious wild child who loves music and dancing, her pets, her dolls, eating anything and everything and taking drives with her parents. She's also the biggest Daddy's girl I think I've ever seen ;)

Thank you for picking us to be your parents, Violet Malynn.

We are the luckiest people ever because of it. We love you like crazy, baby girl!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!

7 years of looove.

Feb 27, 2013

So much goodness going on this week...and today is our 7 year anniversary!

I'm pretty sure I fell in love with Ronnie on our first date but I never knew that all this time later, we'd be here, sharing this life together and a daughter! I know it's a clichĂ© but I truly don't have the words to say just how much I love this man. I never in a million years could've imagined a better friend, love and baby daddy :)

Thank you, honey for putting up with my crazies, making me laugh all day, every day and for loving me no matter what.
Thank you most of all for Violet and for being the BEST father.

I love you always!

I'm pretty sure you've heard enough about it but tomorrow is THE DAY. V turns ONE.
Wish me luck tonight. Not sure how much sobbing I'll be doing :(

Also, PLEASE come back Friday for a super exciting announcement and GIVEAWAY!!
Seriously, you know I wouldn't screw with you - it's awesome.

love and music.

Feb 26, 2013

I am still in shock that a year has flown by since this day last year, my due date.

A year ago today we were hanging out at my parents' and we could barely talk about anything other than the little girl that was about to enter our lives. We had no idea who she would look or act like and it was the most nerve wracking, exciting time EVER.

not my most flattering picture but 40 weeks preggo wasn't exactly my hottest point thank you very much.

A year later there's no question as to who she looks like (me. Duh.) and who she acts like (her father. The fool :).

She is our 50/50 little bundle of awesomeness.

She loves music SO much (can ya tell? :) and I couldn't be more excited about that. Music is near and dear to Ronnie and I and has played such a big part in our relationship. I'm happy to share that love with our babe.

Speaking of music, go on and download yourself this little diddy by one of my favorite bands. If you're an 80s music lover like me, you'll love it. V and I had a nice little dance party to this one on Sunday :)

Just one more month.

Jan 28, 2013

Today, our girl is 11 months old!

Exactly one year ago today, I was being showered with all things pink and basically having zero clue just how much my life and OUR lives would change forever. Definitely a naive newbie mama :)

Today? (Well, these were taken yesterday)
We have a wild child on our hands! (with bumps and scrapes to prove it ;)

She's crawling up a storm, loves cords and scaring the hell out of her mama (ha!), she's babbling 24/7 (and is close to saying "baby"!), she has 4 teeth on top, 4 on bottom and goes to bed by 10 most nights (that's early for her, believe me). She still wakes up a couple times a night but also sleeps in late if our schedule allows. She stands on her own for a couple seconds at a time and shocked us the other night when she squatted down to get something without holding onto anything. She bends over all the time and I swear she's gonna tumble one day. She is obsessed with the dogs' crates (which is where she got her big forehead scrape from), obsessed with standing at the patio doors (where she got that forehead bruise from. ha) and loooves seeing herself in the mirror. She eats so much and so well and is definitely slowing down on the amount of bottles she drinks. She's turning into a big girl every day :(

I can barely scroll through the pictures on my phone or on Facebook without tearing up over just how much and how quickly she's changed and grown up. We're always so proud to see her reach milestones but it all happens so dang fast!! I know it's just life and we're "doing our job" in raising her and teaching her new things but someone please tell that to my crazy Mama heart. ha I just want to cuddle her and keep her out of harm's way forever!

So in just one month we'll celebrate the craziest, happiest, BEST year of our lives! I'm not sure if I should just smile about it or go hide under the covers and cry about it some more ;)

Happy 11 Months, toots.

Happy Thoughts

Nov 7, 2012

I should've gone to bed at 9 last night (when Violet miraculously fell asleep - she never goes to bed that early!) but I decided to stay up and watch the election coverage. I'm happy that I got to see so much of it but my anxiety was high and I felt pretty drained after looking at Twitter.

Yes, I am ecstatic with the election results but I'm saddened by the sudden change for the worse that I saw in some people. So many nasty and horrible things were said on Twitter and Facebook and it was seriously uncalled for. Per usual I got defensive but realized today it's just not worth it. I have my opinion and you have yours so let's just deal and move on, ok? And it should go without saying at our age, but just BE RESPECTFUL, y'all. It doesn't take much.

My friends Christina and Faith both have posts today that are worth a read. I couldn't agree more with them.

Now, can we just get back to talking about Christmas, Starbucks, shopping and nail polish? Oh and link-ups.  Everyone loves a good link-up.
 1 - I love these two more than words can say. Also, please slow down, time.
2 - Little Texans fan // Always with the leg up like her mom // leopard baby feet
 3: Y'all know I love me some HEB. And free samples - thank you, Target!
oh and hey, I have my own domain now!
Get into it.

Feeling The Love

Feb 14, 2012

I admit it, I'm a total sucker for "Hallmark Holidays" like today.

Ronnie & I gave each other our gifts last night since he would be so busy with school today and it was perfect. It's not even about the "day" itself, to me it's all about making your loved ones (that includes family and friends!) feel extra special.

I gave him the Keurig he'd been wanting (ok, technically that's a gift for both of us!) and he gave me some adorable outfits for Baby V that are bright and colorful and say "I Love Mommy", because he didn't like that all the clothes we were getting for her only said "I Love Daddy". He also threw in some headbands and her first sunglasses, that match the outfits. Sweet huh? :) We kept to a small budget this year after all because of baby getting here so soon and that's just fine by me!

I'm just lucky to have this guy no matter what. He makes me feel special all year round and I know he'll make our baby girl feel the same way! I love you, bubba!!

Whether you're taken or single, enjoy today. It's a lovey dovey day no matter what.

Take the time to make someone smile today and I guarantee you'll feel the love too! <3

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thankful Thursday

Nov 10, 2011

I've seen this topic floating around in blog world but is there an actual link up for it? Who knows. I'm gonna talk about it anyway!

Today...and pretty much ALWAYS...I am thankful for MY FAMILY.

Ronnie. He is my rock and my best friend. He makes me laugh like no other and I hope our daughter gets his goofy personality. I truly can't imagine my life without him!

Baby Girl. I'm already so in love with her and we feel even more like a family knowing she's on her way :)

Frasier, Niles & Sibley, our first babies. I cried this morning on the way to work (yeah I'm pregnant, remember?) just thinking about them not being around one day. I know pets are only here a short time so I cherish every single moment with them and every single slobbery kiss.

My parentals. They may drive me crazy sometimes but they are good hearted people who always put family first. Without them allowing us and our animals to take over their house for a few months, we wouldn't have been able to buy a house so soon!

My siblings. Again, our parents drive us crazy sometimes so what's better than having these people to lean on, right? :) I would pretty much do anything for these two.

I won't post all of their pictures of Ronnie's family (because there's so many in his immediate family!) but I'm always grateful for them. They've welcomed me into their family from day one. No drama, no questions asked. They've been extra supportive during this house buying experience and I love them for that!

I'm sure for most it's a given that you're thankful for your family but sometimes you just need a reminder to tell them just how much you love them! We're moving out of my parent's house next week and while I'm excited to get into our OWN house, I'm a little sad over not being able to hang out with them every day. Some days it was too much and some days it was just what I needed. I'll forever be grateful for all of these crazy people in my life!!

Don't forget to enter my Tiny Prints Christmas card giveaway! It closes on Sunday!

And if you joined our Fall Swap, tomorrow's the deadline for sending out your partner's package!

Have a great Thursday :)

happy thoughts

Jun 17, 2011

Well, it looks like the move to San Marcos may be coming sooner than I thought....and I may not be the one moving after all.

No, Ronnie and I are NOT breaking up {and nowhere near that} but we are making a huge change to our living situation starting NEXT WEEK! It will be a trial run for the official move happening August 1st, which will then begin 2 YEARS of living seperately. Neither one of us is thrilled about it but we know it has to be done. It really is a sucky set up and I'm gonna stop talking about it before I cry...but deep down I know we'll get through it. Love is all you need, right? :)

Speaking of love, you know I love love and I love color...so I pinned my evening away finding pretty, cheery things and am doing the same this morning. If you're having a bad day or are just having a pity party like I am, I hope that these will make ya smile ;)

 Happy Friday, y'all :)

{p.s. just found out my baby sis got her driver's license today! beware, san antonio drivers! ha!}
{p.p.s. I've been hit with the Blogger bug that's not allowing me to leave comments. Boo!}

family wedding

Jun 5, 2011

Yesterday was quite the long day but all for a worthy cause.
My cousin Mike married his sweetie fiancée, Amy!

Today has been spent recuperating from the long day {12 pm ceremony/6 pm reception. Oy} but in all honesty I'm only complaining about it because I haven't caught up on my sleep yet and there's a slight chance I may have had one too many beers last night.

The wedding day was hot and humid but at least the rain stayed away and it ended up being a beautiful day for them. They had a traditional Catholic ceremony which some of you may also know as the longest sit - stand - kneel aerobic class of your life! But despite the workout, the church was gorgeous and the ceremony was beautiful. And as expected, there were plenty of happy tears :)

Mike and Amy are just so annoyingly incredibly cute together and he is the happiest I've ever seen him. He's already one of those mushy guys anyway so he has been pretty over the top since he met her. But we love that for him because we know how happy they are together! And just F.Y.I. - they met through eHarmony so if any of y'all single ladies were curious about it - that shiz really works!
{Side note: Ronnie and I met online as well so I can vouch for the online dating too!}

Not that any of my family reads {ok, KNOWS} about my blog but Imma congratulate them here anyway!

Mike and Amy:
You guys are so perfect together and I know you two will always be THIS happy!
Amy, I'm so excited you're now part of the crazy bunch we call family!
Love you guys!

the gorgeous church!

beautiful Hill Country view from the church

Mr. and Mrs!!!

There was an open bar - need I say more?

The next fools in line! ;)

How was your weekend?

Love Love

Jan 31, 2011

Everyone's talking about Valentine's Day right now and it has me thinking about the fact that Ronnie and I don't even celebrate it! We do have a good reason though - our anniversary [Feb. 27] is just a couple weeks after so we usually just wait and celebrate then. Plus it's way more romantical for us when we're not sitting in a super crowded restaurant! Another "tradition" we break is not giving eachother a gift. We usually put our money towards a really good dinner so we've never worried about gifts and we're totally ok with that! But this year is different!

We will be celebrating 5 years together and I have decided to change this tradition of non gifting! We are going to give eachother a simple and fun gift, $30 or under. It's a bit of a challenge but I'm super excited! We are planning to go out for a nice dinner too but I think adding in a special gift will make this the best anniversary yet!

So thinking of gifts, Ronnie loves stuff for our house (well, apartment now) so I'm always looking for that kind of stuff but I've found a couple good non-house gifts too! These are my ideas so far:

{I found this in an Etsy shop and LOVE it! It matches our "hello." welcome mat so that might be cute, huh?}

{He has mentioned wanting this from Urban Outfitters...but do I really want it up at the house? ha!}

{He's been talking about this print from Urban Outfitters a ton but the large one's $55! But I love it too so I may just splurge!}

{I totally LOL'ed when I found this tshirt! It's not exactly lovey dovey but that's just our sense of humor! And since Ronnie's heritage is Scottish, I think he'd love this! He'll probably even repeat it in his best Scottish accent. lol}
{Ronnie hearts the Texans like I heart cupcakes! He'd hate that comparison but it's true. ha! He also hearts his caps to have mesh on the back so I thought this cap would be super cool.}

That's all I have so far...What do y'all think? Any ideas?

I'm super excited to give him the gift [whatever I finally choose!] but I'm most excited that I have such a sweet honey to gift...and love of course ;)

Where Nobody Knows My Name

Jan 19, 2011

I woke up today ready to change this blog's name! Totally random but I just figured since I won't be "Marrying C-ash" for a while, I needed to focus on me and what *I* like and not just what I like for the wedding. I'm actually very relieved to not have to think about wedding anything for a while! (Crazy huh?)

So after a lot of thought, I kept coming back to what I love most: COLOR! I was trying to do a play on words with different names of colors I like but none of them seemed to fit. And since I especially love bright colors, I tried to do something happy using words like lights, sunshine, etc...but honestly? I'm not that overly chipper of a person so that doesn't quite fit. ha! Finally I decided to bring it back to the original idea for this blog, which was a wedding which DUH, is all about LOVE! And lovey dovey I am :) So after searching through some images, I happened upon a print with this quote and I decided it was meant to be mine!

Everyday is Black and White
You are my color.

So there you have it! I'm really digging it and I think it fits perfectly! (Especially considering Ronnie is always the one to bring me back to reality + optimism when I'm stressed and thinking negatively!)...The new url is http://www.youaremycolor.blogspot.com/

Happy Hump Day, y'all!
