Before I leave!

Thanks to all of you that reached out on my last post and shared your "'mom guilt" stories with me. It's something that really bothers me but I know it's normal and it helps to know I'm not just crazy :)

-- So first off, I would just like to note that last night my child actually slept through the night!! Halleluyer!! Ronnie did inform me that she woke up once but quickly went back to sleep - apparently I slept through that. (hashtag: momoftheyear) I woke up this morning and stared at her for like 20 minutes wondering if I was dreaming or not. It was totally real. And she's now my favorite child EVER.

-- We are having the most amazing weather here right now! Our high yesterday was in the 50's and today we're in the 60's. It is just so perfect! I think it's hilarious that this kind of weather is what maybe people up north consider Spring like. To us, we're bringing out the coats and talking as if we got a last bit of "winter" weather.  ha I friggin love this weather, winter or not.

-- Have you heard the new Fitz and The Tantrums album? Gah. I'm so excited about it.



 -- I leave to Las Vegas on Monday for my first work event this year and part of me is excited but mostly I'm just dreading leaving V. I know she's in the best hands and it's "just" 5 days but ugh, I don't wanna do it. I know this is last minute but if anyone would like to guest post for me while I'm gone, I'd love to have you! I would need posts for next Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (I'm not going to do posts the whole week.) The post wouldn't have to be anything specific - just talk Pinterest, DIY, jewelry, nail polish, neon, drinks, WHATEVAH.  Just keep it light and fluffy :) Also, I'd need it by tomorrow night!!

I'm off to finish off a shit ton of work that I have to do before we leave the office today! Then I have to go home and prepare for the garage sale I agreed to having tomorrow. I'm pretty sure Ronnie drugged me at some point to get a "yes" outta me. And then in my "free time" (ha. What is that anyway?!), I have to actually pack and get ready for this trip. Yowza. Wish me luck!

I am still in shock that a year has flown by since this day last year, my due date.

 

A year ago today we were hanging out at my parents' and we could barely talk about anything other than the little girl that was about to enter our lives. We had no idea who she would look or act like and it was the most nerve wracking, exciting time EVER.

A year later there's no question as to who she looks like (me. Duh.) and who she acts like (her father. The fool :).

 

She is our 50/50 little bundle of awesomeness.

 

She loves music SO much (can ya tell? :) and I couldn't be more excited about that. Music is near and dear to Ronnie and I and has played such a big part in our relationship. I'm happy to share that love with our babe.

Speaking of music, go on and download yourself this little diddy by one of my favorite bands. If you're an 80s music lover like me, you'll love it. V and I had a nice little dance party to this one on Sunday :)

Tuesday Thoughts?

Not quite the same as Thursday Thoughts but it works. Besides, what day don't I have random thoughts?

--I don't get the Valentine's Day hype, never have. Am I alone? Ronnie and I started dating about 2 weeks after Valentine's so we've just focused on celebrating that. Holy crap, 7 years this year!

--But if you're a V-day fan, I think DIY is the way to go! Jamie has TONS of ideas. Lots of cute shit here too.

--Violet's birthday is exactly 2 weeks after Valentine's day. I think I'm going to call her day, V-day.

--Today I'm jamming to 80s country on Pandora. (Ronnie and his dad would be so proud!) Try it and thank me later.

--Next week I'm going to a mini-reunion with friends from 6th grade! So random, right? Private school's at least good for its small classes, forcing everyone to be friends :)

--If you're not watching The Following, start. It's . so . good!

--I will never understand beard haters. I LOVE my manly bearded man and if he didn't have to look somewhat profesh, I'd totally let him grow it out Duck Dynasty style. Or like his beard idol.

--I loved VeryJane.com until my credit card got hacked for the second time! Another friend had the same issue using that site. Be careful!

--My "About Me + Us" page has been updated! It's silly and pretty wordy but whatever, it's us.

--I need some Girl Scout cookies in my life. and soon.

talking 'bout Wednesday

Is it really Wednesday, already? Thank freaking goodness because I am so ready for the week to be over. Lots of changes are about to happen in my world and it's got me all stressed and excited at once. I am in desperate need of this weekend! But for now, total happy thoughts :)

{one} what color best describes you + why?
Dang, starting off with a toughie! ... Maybe teal? It's my favorite color and it's not overwhelming or flashy, just cool. kinda like me ;)

{two} how have you changed in the past year?
I've stopped falling for guilt trips and trying to make everyone else happy. Focusing on ME and MY little family happy first has definitely changed relationships for the better.

{three} have you ever had any surgeries?
Yes ma'am and I don't recommend them! I had my tonsils removed when I was a kid, half my thyroid removed 9 years ago and then a deviated septum surgery right after that. Fun! 

{four} why did you start your blog?
I started my original blog "JeyReyinSA" because I wanted an outlet to talk about girly things :) But I got bored and stopped updating..until we got engaged and I started THIS blog to talk wedding planning. I called it "Marrying C-ash...with little of it" {yup, Ronnie's last name} but when we postponed the wedding I changed it to my current title. My obession focus in life is no longer my wedding so I'm loving talking about other stuff for a while!

{five} what are you looking forward to this summer?
EVERYTHING! I'm excited to spend more time with our friends just having beer/pizza night or going to the lake. And I'm SO looking forward to spending time with our dads for Father's Day, celebrating my "baby" brother's 25th birthday and my parent's 30th wedding anniversary!

{six} do you have any family traditions for the 4th of July?
Not at all...Usually just a BBQ at my parents' or at our friends'.

{seven} what’s something new that you’ve tried in the past few months?
Curling/waving my hair with a flat iron. I totally sucked at it for a while but after lots of practice I have found my groove and I love doing it!

{eight} what is the perfect a/c temperature?
70! It's crazy expensive during the summer but so.freaking.necessary.

{nine} what was the last movie you saw in the theater?
Hangover 2! It was disgusting and vulgar and I loved every second of it! I saw it with the same two girlfriends that I saw the first one with it so we had a blast.

{ten} what song do you think everyone should hear at least once?
Oh wow. Another toughie....I would say "Mykonos" by Fleet Foxes. It's so catchy and has a beautiful sound.

I had no idea there were so many link up options for Tuesday! I don't wanna get crazy though so I chose to participate in this one today because music is my favorite topic. This is the first time I'm linking up and you can do the same here!


I actually don't have an Ipod {I know, crazy} but I keep all of my music on my amazing little Android phone. I love that thing so much!!

My #1 song is definitely "Money Grabber" by Fitz & The Tantrums...

I actually posted it here the other day because -shocker- I was listening to it at that time and wanted to share it. Anyway, you could say I am majorly, totally, butt-crazy in love with this band.* The horns really do it for me :) I'm going to see them in Austin on April 19th and I.cannot.freaking.wait!





#2 is "Don't Look Back" by She & Him. I'm sure many of you have heard it but it's one of my faves. I can have this one on repeat all night {before Ronnie would finally kill me!}. The songs are just so unique and her voice is the sweetest! In my dreams, I am Zooey Deschanel :)





And thanks for all the comments on both posts yesterday, y'all are the BEST. I've always been that girl with guy friends so being in the bloggy world now, I have met so many amazing ladies. This makes me super happy :)

Now, to just get through a bit of drama here at work, and I'll get to go home and relax...How's your day been so far??
