We Interrupt This Program...
Jul 8, 2011
I'm pretty sure I need a break from blogging to let my mind absorb all of the changes that are coming up. I thought our lives were totally planned and totally figured out but apparently we knew NOTHING. I know the changes are great but all my "first world problems" are quickly becoming distant memories. Things are about to get real serious up in here!

"I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!" {where's that from? Go!}
Ok so ever since we came to the crappy decision of moving, Ronnie and I have been stressed beyond belief. We've had trouble sleeping, we've been getting headaches and we have been majorly on edge. We should be planning this whole move but instead it's like we're trying so hard not to even think about what it's like to not live together. {Geez, we sound like weirdos.}
Last night we went and picked up some burgers from one of our fave hole in the wall places. Nothing out of the ordinary but since we were near the Zoo, I had the idea that we should go eat at the nearby park instead of going home. So we set our "picnic" and got to enjoy a nice breeze and a pretty sunset. We could hear the sound of kids laughter from the softball game down the road and it was just so peaceful and relaxing. Afterward we crossed the street to the Japanese Tea Gardens to take a romantical stroll where we pretty much acted like we were just dating again. And it was perfection.
And here's where I get serious. Doing all of this made me realize that despite spending most of our time together, we actually have forgotten to focus on living in the moment together and making things special. Cheesy but true. This impromptu date was nothing fancy but we ended up having the best time that we've had in a while! And today, I'm actually kinda looking forward to the move. Crazy huh? I know it will be good for saving money and all but when we do finally get to see eachother that one time each week, we are going to cherish the hell out it! And that part is pretty exciting don't you think?
Who knew a cheap date could work such wonders! :)

Apparently there was a crew filming at the gardens but we saw no sign of them, just their very professional signage warning us we might end up on their film. If they were there, they probably caught some good PDA ;)
Thanks for letting me get all serious for a moment... It's just nice to have something change your perspective in a good way!
Have a great Friday, y'all!

Is it really Wednesday, already? Thank freaking goodness because I am so ready for the week to be over. Lots of changes are about to happen in my world and it's got me all stressed and excited at once. I am in desperate need of this weekend! But for now, total happy thoughts :)
{one} what color best describes you + why?
Dang, starting off with a toughie! ... Maybe teal? It's my favorite color and it's not overwhelming or flashy, just cool. kinda like me ;)
{two} how have you changed in the past year?
I've stopped falling for guilt trips and trying to make everyone else happy. Focusing on ME and MY little family happy first has definitely changed relationships for the better.
{three} have you ever had any surgeries?
Yes ma'am and I don't recommend them! I had my tonsils removed when I was a kid, half my thyroid removed 9 years ago and then a deviated septum surgery right after that. Fun!
{four} why did you start your blog?
I started my original blog "JeyReyinSA" because I wanted an outlet to talk about girly things :) But I got bored and stopped updating..until we got engaged and I started THIS blog to talk wedding planning. I called it "Marrying C-ash...with little of it" {yup, Ronnie's last name} but when we postponed the wedding I changed it to my current title. Myobession focus in life is no longer my wedding so I'm loving talking about other stuff for a while!
{five} what are you looking forward to this summer?
EVERYTHING! I'm excited to spend more time with our friends just having beer/pizza night or going to the lake. And I'm SO looking forward to spending time with our dads for Father's Day, celebrating my "baby" brother's 25th birthday and my parent's 30th wedding anniversary!
{six} do you have any family traditions for the 4th of July?
Not at all...Usually just a BBQ at my parents' or at our friends'.
{seven} what’s something new that you’ve tried in the past few months?
Curling/waving my hair with a flat iron. I totally sucked at it for a while but after lots of practice I have found my groove and I love doing it!
{eight} what is the perfect a/c temperature?
70! It's crazy expensive during the summer but so.freaking.necessary.
{nine} what was the last movie you saw in the theater?
Hangover 2! It was disgusting and vulgar and I loved every second of it! I saw it with the same two girlfriends that I saw the first one with it so we had a blast.
{ten} what song do you think everyone should hear at least once?
Oh wow. Another toughie....I would say "Mykonos" by Fleet Foxes. It's so catchy and has a beautiful sound.
+Make sure you get to Starbuck's soon if you love yourself some good music! Right now with every drink purchase they are giving a card for a Free 10 Song Summer Mix iTunes download. It is ah-mozzing. Some of my fave bands on the list are Death Cab for Cutie, Cold War Kids and Fleet Foxes. Total goodness :)
+And do you have a doggy? If so, swing by my lovely friend Kara's blog Lovin' a Farm Boy and enter her giveaway! She is giving away a basket of goodies for your dog and it will be customized! As she said "...your rottweiler might have different toys than my shih tzu." :) The deadline to enter is this Friday. Good luck {or not. because I really want it!}
I'm linking up today with Leigh Ashley!

Lots of stuff going on in our household! As I've talked about before, Ronnie is in school and is working towards being a dietician. With working full time and going to school full time, he's always tired, stressed and yes, even grumpy. Shocker huh? But in the past few weeks, his boss had been cutting hours which was actually fine because it gave Ronnie more time for school. I stressed over less $ coming in but we've been dealing ok. Then over the weekend, his boss tells him that he is shutting down the business "temporarily" until they get more work in (he's in land surveying). So it seems things are going to be fine for a while - Ronnie will collect unemployment until he can find a part time job and for now, he finally has the time to just concentrate on school. But there's one problem with this "cushy" set up.
All this extra time gives him more time to THINK. and SCHEME.
Ronnie's getting a taste of the college kid life. He's at home not working, just concentrating on school. I even let him off the hook with cleaning up the house during the day because I'd rather him focus on school. So that brings me to the big "change". Ronnie has decided that he is fully considering taking my parents up on their offer to let us move in for a while. They've always said "Just move in, stop worrying about bills and just focus on school for now" but I never thought he'd be into it. This seems like the "easy" way out but is it REALLY easy to live with my parents again? It's not only me having to adjust but Ronnie will have some MAJOR adjusting to do. He's been on his own since 17 and my family is the in-your-face-we-have-to-do-family-stuff-24/7 kinda family. We've dealt with that ok since we live in our own place but how will it change now? I'm nervous, scared, and semi-excited (about not having bills), all at once. I'm not sure what to think. I worry that this will affect our relationship. Or maybe it will be better because we won't be arguing about money for a while? How will we deal with having no privacy? Moving our dogs + cat into an already full house? And what about the wedding? We'll get married next year and just go back "home" to my parents'? Or should the wedding just get put on hold?
AAAAGH. I'm stressing beyond belief because while I know it would be a hard change, I can't help but think how awesome it would be to allow Ronnie the chance to hurry up and finish school, with NO stress... Any advice? Thanks, Ladies!

Not even my facebook friends know about this.. but there's a big reason for my absence in the blog world or in the wedding planning word for that matter.
My dad just told us (the kids) just 3 weeks ago that his kidney's are failing due to his diabetes and he'll need to be put on dialysis soon. He went in last Friday for the first surgery which is to have the fistula inserted, which is the port for dialysis treatment (more info on that here). He was doing well but yesterday started having trouble breathing and they think he's having fluid back up and it's affecting his heart. Needless to say this is a HUGE blow to all of us and I immediately told my dad I no longer wanted a big wedding because they should instead save their money for when my dad needs to stop working, etc.. But my parents refused. They said I am their first child, first daughter and that they've dreamed of doing this for me and since they know I've always wanted a wedding, to go ahead with it. It's hard for me to even get into planning though!
First I was struggling because of my mom and the way she was acting (which turns out she'd been distant because she'd been holding my dad's "secret" inside) and now that we all know, it's hard to move on with planning. I know I should but all I do is worry for my dad. He's been my best friend and I've always been super close with him. No need to comment on this post, just please keep my dad in your prayers (if you pray), he really needs it. I need some strength too :)
Hope all is well with all of you!!!
