Why I like today.

Feb 14, 2013

I know I've said it before but Ronnie and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. We're not anti-Valentine's or anything, we just don't make a big deal out of it. We would much rather spend our money on gifts and a nice dinner on our anniversary in 2 weeks and well, it's nice to show each other love every day, don't you think?

But I have to admit, there are some things I really do love about Valentine's:

-- Pink, red, hearts, sparkles, ruffles, sprinkles, candy! How can all this girlyness not make you happy?

-- I get to dress up this little girl in themed, cutesy clothes! (And one day, make Valentine's cards with her which I really am excited about.)

-- Surprises! Gifts! No, not from Ronnie but from people you may not share the love with every day.

In this case, it's a swap with blog friends :) Corrin's Valentine's Day swap is anonymous and I can't wait to find out who sent me these goodies!! (Why yes, that's nearly 2 lbs of Sour Patch goodness. And yes, I have already opened it.)

-- Today's a good day to be mushy and cheesy and not care. And to be honest, this is the only V-day gift I need. (See? Even I'm being cheesy.)

What do you think about Valentine's Day?

(And if you say not having a man makes today crappy, remember this:
Guys are great and all but they fart. A lot. Just saying.)

Feeling The Love

Feb 14, 2012

I admit it, I'm a total sucker for "Hallmark Holidays" like today.

Ronnie & I gave each other our gifts last night since he would be so busy with school today and it was perfect. It's not even about the "day" itself, to me it's all about making your loved ones (that includes family and friends!) feel extra special.

I gave him the Keurig he'd been wanting (ok, technically that's a gift for both of us!) and he gave me some adorable outfits for Baby V that are bright and colorful and say "I Love Mommy", because he didn't like that all the clothes we were getting for her only said "I Love Daddy". He also threw in some headbands and her first sunglasses, that match the outfits. Sweet huh? :) We kept to a small budget this year after all because of baby getting here so soon and that's just fine by me!

I'm just lucky to have this guy no matter what. He makes me feel special all year round and I know he'll make our baby girl feel the same way! I love you, bubba!!

Whether you're taken or single, enjoy today. It's a lovey dovey day no matter what.

Take the time to make someone smile today and I guarantee you'll feel the love too! <3

Happy Valentine's Day!

This Valentine's Day

Feb 7, 2012

We are exactly one week 'til Valentine's Day! Normally, Ronnie and I don't make a big deal out of it but not because I'm one of those people who doesn't fall for a "Hallmark holiday" (because I totally do!) but because our anniversary is Feb. 27th and we have always waited to just celebrate that.

This year though? That probably won't work since we're due to receive a baby on or around Feb. 26th. (Just in case you didn't know that by now!) So we are TOTES doing Valentine's Day this year. You hear that, Ronnie? And while I have you, Ronnie, I know we're not big on gifts but just.in.case you're wondering what to get your fabulous baby momma, here's some ideas!
Multi Dot Lacey Wallet
(Hello, it's even on sale!)
(We do need a rug for the entry way :)
(In whatever amount you feel I'm worthy of, my dear :)
(Momma needs some comfy shoes!)
Sterling Silver Bunting Necklace
(I'd love it with a certain little girl's name - do it for her!)

Orrrr you can just bring me a buttload of cupcakes and we're good ;)

So do you usually celebrate Valentine's Day? What do you do?
and don't forget about me and Savanah's link up this Friday!!
If you met your honey online, get your posts ready!

A great Monday!

Feb 14, 2011

So last week I got the best news - I won this giveaway hosted by the wonderful Megan of In This Wonderful Life!! I never have any expectations to actually win giveaways so I was totally shocked when I saw Megan's post announcing the winner! Thank you, Megan and thank you, Julie of Vibrant Designs! I'm definitely leaning towards using my credit towards these adorable headbands but I haven't made up my mind yet! :)

In other news, I'm back to work today after being out a couple days last week with the flu. I'm still coughing a little and am kind of congested but overall feel MUCH better. Now it's back to feeling like my old, allergy-ridden crummy self. ha! But I definitely got over the flu with perfect timing because my boss is taking us all to a nice lunch today to celebrate a year of being in our new office. I love me some sushi and I especially love Kona Grill!

And in the spirit of Valentine's Day, just want to add that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this guy:
He makes me laugh like no other and oooh is he CUTE! He is my best friend and is the only Valentine I ever want. I love you so much, Bubba!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! I hope y'all have a wonderful, lovey dovey day!

Love Love

Everyone's talking about Valentine's Day right now and it has me thinking about the fact that Ronnie and I don't even celebrate it! We do have a good reason though - our anniversary [Feb. 27] is just a couple weeks after so we usually just wait and celebrate then. Plus it's way more romantical for us when we're not sitting in a super crowded restaurant! Another "tradition" we break is not giving eachother a gift. We usually put our money towards a really good dinner so we've never worried about gifts and we're totally ok with that! But this year is different!

We will be celebrating 5 years together and I have decided to change this tradition of non gifting! We are going to give eachother a simple and fun gift, $30 or under. It's a bit of a challenge but I'm super excited! We are planning to go out for a nice dinner too but I think adding in a special gift will make this the best anniversary yet!

So thinking of gifts, Ronnie loves stuff for our house (well, apartment now) so I'm always looking for that kind of stuff but I've found a couple good non-house gifts too! These are my ideas so far:

{I found this in an Etsy shop and LOVE it! It matches our "hello." welcome mat so that might be cute, huh?}

{He has mentioned wanting this from Urban Outfitters...but do I really want it up at the house? ha!}

{He's been talking about this print from Urban Outfitters a ton but the large one's $55! But I love it too so I may just splurge!}

{I totally LOL'ed when I found this tshirt! It's not exactly lovey dovey but that's just our sense of humor! And since Ronnie's heritage is Scottish, I think he'd love this! He'll probably even repeat it in his best Scottish accent. lol}
{Ronnie hearts the Texans like I heart cupcakes! He'd hate that comparison but it's true. ha! He also hearts his caps to have mesh on the back so I thought this cap would be super cool.}

That's all I have so far...What do y'all think? Any ideas?

I'm super excited to give him the gift [whatever I finally choose!] but I'm most excited that I have such a sweet honey to gift...and love of course ;)
