happy thoughts

Jun 17, 2011

Well, it looks like the move to San Marcos may be coming sooner than I thought....and I may not be the one moving after all.

No, Ronnie and I are NOT breaking up {and nowhere near that} but we are making a huge change to our living situation starting NEXT WEEK! It will be a trial run for the official move happening August 1st, which will then begin 2 YEARS of living seperately. Neither one of us is thrilled about it but we know it has to be done. It really is a sucky set up and I'm gonna stop talking about it before I cry...but deep down I know we'll get through it. Love is all you need, right? :)

Speaking of love, you know I love love and I love color...so I pinned my evening away finding pretty, cheery things and am doing the same this morning. If you're having a bad day or are just having a pity party like I am, I hope that these will make ya smile ;)

 Happy Friday, y'all :)

{p.s. just found out my baby sis got her driver's license today! beware, san antonio drivers! ha!}
{p.p.s. I've been hit with the Blogger bug that's not allowing me to leave comments. Boo!}

Fill in the Blank Friday!

Jun 10, 2011

I am in the best mood today! It's Friday, the bosses left town again, my tattle tale co-worker is on vacation and the day is flying by! Definitely not a potty mouth kinda day

So y'all know I love me a good link-up and today's my first time with Lauren @ The Little Things We Do. The theme of her questions this week is Vacations! And if you know me in real life you've probably heard me say a few thousand times that "I reeeeally need a vacation"...because...well, I like to complain and I think vacations are the only solution to a problem :)

1. This weekend will most likely be a free for all! I love those kind the best :)

2. My last vacation was to Colorado last October. We went to Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs and Estes Park. It was GORGEOUS there and I never wanted to leave!

3. My next vacation will be to Nashville or San Diego!

4. My favorite way to relax is to catch up on the DVR! I love to not think and just do NOTHING after a long day at work.

5. When vacationing one should always let loose! Have fun exploring, find out what the locals love and just get into all the things that place has to offer!

6. When vacationing one should never stress. Don't worry so much about your dogs, kids, diet, work - just chill out. You don't get this kind of break very often so don't fudge it up by worrying about little things {This worrywart has learned that lesson!}

7. The best part about a vacation is the memories you make. I've never forgotten one thing about a vacation. It's when you're the most relaxed and happy, so take hundreds of pictures and take in every moment!

Now, all this vacation talk is forcing me to talk about my favorite vacation ever. {Sorry!}

Yosemite, CA 2009! Our first real vacation together.

Not only was it beautiful but on the downstairs patio of our little cabin in the woods....

is where THIS happened :)

So Yosemite definitely holds a big part of my heart ;)

I hope you guys have the best weekend ever. Live it up!

Vacay, Shopping & Weight Loss! Holla!

Mar 25, 2011

Ladies, we have made it! IT IS FRIDAY! And today is extra fabulous because I am OFF OF WORK!!!! I haven't had a day off in forever and the other day Ronnie randomly said "You know what, you should just take a Friday off and have a chill day to yourself one of these days." Sweet, huh? So I took his advice {I mean, who would ignore that, right?} and I am so glad I did. It was absolutely amazing to wake up at 9:30 am, take the dogs for a long walk, then drive on over to Starbucks {not in a hurry AND with the dogs!}. Since then I've been catching up on blogs and on DVR'ed shows. Oh. It's been great and I could get used to this! :p

So last night, after watching my sister in "The Importance of Being Earnest" at her high school {she was Miss Prism and did an amazing job!!}, I went to Old Navy because I was dying to try on that chiffon dress I'd posted about on Wednesday. Unfortunately, it did not work out. AT ALL. But I did find another dress I'm in love with! It's hot pink and linen and just so comfy and pretty! I also found a gingham, really thin button up that is perfect for the warm weather. It looks so cute with the sleeves rolled up too - I ended up buying it in 2 different colors! Then I bought a couple of black light weight, 3/4 sleeve cardigans because until I'm skinny, my arms will continue to get covered! ha. I did buy one of them in a smaller size though because I intend to keep losing weight. But the best part of this shopping trip was that normally, because of my arms and because of my um, buxom self, I've always worn XXL at Old Navy. Not yesterday! I fit into everything XL! I actually felt comfortable and CUTE. And there was no near-crying fits in the dressing room either! ha!

So this is what I came home with:

I've only lost close to 8 lbs but it seriously has already made such a difference. I haven't measured myself but I know my belly has gone down some and my chest and arms have for sure. I just FEEL more comfortable in my clothes already and if it feels this good after just this little bit of weight loss, that is all the incentive I need to keep it up! And I just want to say THANK YOU all for your sweet comments about the weight loss, I'm so lucky to have such awesome support! :)

Well, I'm off like a dirty shirt! I'm gonna get my lazy butt up and outta here! The boys will probably be disappointed that I'm not going to take them out again though...especially after this scene at Starbuck's this morning:

The drive thru guy saw them in the passenger seat and asked me if they'd ever had whip and I said "No, this is their first Starbuck's trip!!" and he immediately brought out a little cup of whip for them. They were in HEAVEN and went nuts!! {Can't you tell by the whip on Frasier's head?}. I didn't let them have much because they have sensitive tummies but at least they got to have a little excitement in their Friday too :)

Happy Friday, y'all!!
