So, apparently I cook now. Who knew?

It was one of my New Year's goals - to actually make an effort to cook. I wanted for so long to be the one that fed my family. I was just always so lazy after a long day at work and then getting home to Ronnie already cooking dinner nearly every night just gave me an easy out. See, I don't cook and never ever have. Up until maybe a year ago, I'd never even cooked pasta for crying out loud! I could make eggs, bacon, pancakes and oatmeal though. Oh, and I CAN bake. I do that all the time! Baking's not the issue. It's cooking a meal that I just couldn't do. Or never really tried to do, I should say. It just didn't excite me and I just let myself ignore it but oh how that's going to change this year!

Ronnie has his new part-time evening job sooo who's gonna cook if he's not here? Having no choice was basically the best way to get me cooking! ha. And guess what?? I actually like it! I'm excited to try more recipes! So far this week I've made a meal every night. That's HUGE around here. They've been pretty basic, super easy meals but STILL. Mama. is. actually. cooking. I even had to document it on Instagram the other night, because that's what I do.

I'm proud of myself! Y'all don't even understand! I know cooking's just a thing that everyone does but not this girl. And my night was made that first night when Ronnie got home and I was already in bed but I get a text saying "Dinner is so good.". Night made, y'all. Then on Tuesday he complimented the meal again and said that he was really liking my cooking. He liked last night's meal too! It just makes me so happy to cook for him rather than the other way around. I feel so domestic!(ish) :)

I have a few more goals for 2014 that I'll talk about soon but this was one of the biggies! Now, if I could actually get my child to eat those meals, I'd consider this a real win. She's the pickiest eater ever and rarely wants to eat anything but that's a whole 'nother post for another day. Ooh and if you have a favorite, go-to, super easy recipe, send it my way! :)

I only had my last post up for an hour but I decided to take it down. It's way too depressing for this place!

But a quick recap in case you're as nosy as I am ;) --> Ronnie and I have decided to look for a home for our cat and then my parents will be taking our dog Frasier. Niles will of course stay with us since he's recovering from his back surgery. We just have a LOT going on and we have our reasons. It's a difficult decision because our pets were our first babies but it's what is best for our family and because our main priority is now our daughter. Y'all know I'm an open book so if you want to know more, just ask and we'll chat ;)

So let's get this place happy again...Funny pins, yo!

Pinteresting Wednesday

Back in the "early days" of Pinterest, I was absolutely addicted. After a while though I started to feel so bad every time I would log on.

Why am I not that creative?? Why isn't my house that organized??

Why do I wake up with a fro instead of beach waves even when I followed the tutorial to a t!!??

Am I right? Please tell me I'm not the only one who has just for a second hated their life when they log on to Pinterest? I mean how do these people do it?!

A Random but Pinteresting post!

First off, can I just get a HALLELUYER for the rain we finally got down here?! I had totally forgotten what rain looked like, smelled like, felt like...we've gotten about an inch of rain since MARCH! So we desperately needed it and I'm just glad the weather guys were finally right! It also "cooled" us off to where we should only reach 89 degrees today, a huge relief from the consistent 100+ we've had every day!

Second, I think I ate enough sushi last night to last me a good month. {Who am I kidding? I'm sure I could eat more today if I tried.} We met at our friends' house and for 3 couples, we had about 16 rolls of sushi set out and we cleaned.it.up!! Combine that with a couple ginormous margaritas and Ronnie nearly had to roll ME out of there! {get it? Roll? hehe} But it was SO fun and I can't wait for the next, what has now been named, "Sushi Social"! :p

I'm sure I'm not the only one but I am super obsessed with Pinterest! And after telling my mom all about it this past weekend, she wants in! I'm going to set her up tonight and I can't wait to see what she pins!

Well, it looks like the move to San Marcos may be coming sooner than I thought....and I may not be the one moving after all.

No, Ronnie and I are NOT breaking up {and nowhere near that} but we are making a huge change to our living situation starting NEXT WEEK! It will be a trial run for the official move happening August 1st, which will then begin 2 YEARS of living seperately. Neither one of us is thrilled about it but we know it has to be done. It really is a sucky set up and I'm gonna stop talking about it before I cry...but deep down I know we'll get through it. Love is all you need, right? :)

Speaking of love, you know I love love and I love color...so I pinned my evening away finding pretty, cheery things and am doing the same this morning. If you're having a bad day or are just having a pity party like I am, I hope that these will make ya smile ;)
