The good news?  I'm officially on vacation and don't go back to work until January 6th!!

The bad news? I have soooo much Christmas shopping left to do and I'm running out of time to do it. 

When people find out how behind I am on shopping, they always say, "Oh, do it all online!" Well, if you're as last minute as I am, that doesn't exactly work. That whole shipping in time for Christmas thing, I'm past all shipping deadlines. And this cheapskate isn't gonna pay $20+ just to have something shipped in a couple days. Am I right? 

I should have my gifts wrapped and enjoying my vacation starting now. Instead, I'm gonna be running around from store to store, fighting crowds and making all kinds of promises to do it differently next year. But the truth is, I'm such an indecisive person and procrastinator that I know things may never change! I can't even tell you how many times I saw something at Target or on Etsy over the past few months, that I thought so-and-so would like but I could never commit. And that's the kind of b.s. that gets me where I am today. (And to add to it, I desperately needed my bonus from work to help us out with our shopping and I didn't get it til 2 weeks ago.)

So there's my big old excuse. I suck at Christmas this year, per usual. Thankfully I at least put up decorations! I'll be posting pictures of that stuff soon - just as soon as I get in the last of my two stocking orders, because of course I waited til the last minute to get our stockings. At least you know what to expect of me ;)

Did you know I've NEVER had a job that gave us President's Day off? I'm pretty sure my bosses should be making a much bigger deal out of this day than they are.

Did you know that today's not only President's Day but NATIONAL WINE DAY too? Holla! Tonight's plans is made.

Did you know today also marks 10 days until my darling-precious-child-who-refuses-to-sleep-in-her-crib turns 1? Of course you did because this crazy mom won't just drop it already!

Let's take a look at what's she's been up to, shall we?

All this in one weekend, too. The fact that her mom stayed in pj's most of the weekend and went outside not once, but twice, without a bra, can only mean that she gets her productivity from her dad.

 

Having said that, I still have a shit ton left to do for V's birthday party. I have discovered that while Pinning birthday party ideas for months ahead of time feels productive, it is in fact quite the opposite. You have to actually make the stuff. Fascinating.

 

I am happy to say though that at the very least, the party invitations been mailed out, with just 2 weeks to spare.

Now I'm off to make a to-do list of stuff that has GOT to get done this week. Sorry, job duties, you'll have to wait until some other time.

 

Oh and to those who are off work today, I'll stop talking smack. Enjoy your day. Because I just remembered that I get two weeks off this coming Christmas. So that > President's Day. Boom.

While this past weekend was relaxing, it was a waste.

I woke up Saturday fully intending to start packing for the move.

In my head I'm shouting "Woohoo! Let's do this! Look at me, I'm such a bad ass!"

Which quickly turned into "But I have so much to catch up on DVR! Ooh and a couple new movies on Netflix too!"

The text messages for the day all went something like this:

Friend: "Hey what are you doing today?"

Me: "Suuuper busy".

Obviously. TV is serious business.

Sunday? I actually woke up with energy and start dreaming big again! "Woohooooo!"

Start to organize some junk to decide what to pack, what to get rid of.

Until that guy I live with decides to start saying guilt trippy stuff like "This sucks.", "I'm bored".

And since I would do anything to get out of packing for my fiance, I say "You're so right babe, let's get outta here!"

So we did. And we went to dinner. And we went to a movie. And we drank lots of beer at the movie.

And we lived as if we were not.freaking.moving.in.THREE.weeks! 

It was all good fun until we returned to a messy apartment which had not been packed up while we were gone. Apparently the dogs couldn't lift a paw to help a sista out :/ 

I just don't want to do it. I don't want to pack. I don't want to move. But I know we gotta.

So all I ask today is that you send some of your motivational waves my way! I'm very interested in knowing what life is like for you go-getters because this girl does not know how to get!
