Getting to Know You - TX Women Style

Aug 15, 2013

A few months ago, I joined the Texas Women's Blogger Network in hopes of meeting more Texas Bloggers and it hasn't disappointed! I've met a ton of great girls and being part of the network has also given me the opportunity to work with a couple new sponsors. I've been meaning to participate in more of their link-ups and have been slacking but I knew I had to jump on this one! I love Q&A posts!

Getting to Know You Link Party with the Texas Women Bloggers

1. What part of Texas do you call home?
San Antonio! Born and raised.

2. How long have you been blogging?
Since 2009 when my then boyfriend proposed to me. I thought for sure I'd become the next popular wedding planning blogger ;) That didn't quite pan out though (obviously) so I got bored. I finally started to be consistent (ish) with blogging in early 2011.

3. Why did you start blogging?
First, to follow along in our wedding planning and then when that fizzled out, I just brought it back to talking about my shopping addiction and my fiancé and our little life. Now, there's a lot of talk about our daughter :)

4. When we visit your blog, what can we expect to discover?
Sarcasm, for sure. And me trying every which way to be a bad influence when it comes to shopping ;) and just a lot of updates on our life - whether that's me finding balance as a working mom, what Etsy shop or nail polish I'm loving, my fiancé and his goings on, my job, our daughter (oh, so much about our daughter), our plans for the future and more!

5. How did you come up with your Blog Title and what is its meaning?
My original blog title was "Marrying Cash...with little of it" (a catchy little take on my future hubby's last name and our small wedding budget ;) but when we postponed the wedding and the focus of my blog changed, I tried to think of things that are a constant in my life. Love and color always stood out. So when I happened upon a print that said "Every day is black and white...you are my color", it was meant to be! I wish I had saved where that print was from though, I've never been able to find it again!

6. What do you love about being part of Texas Women Bloggers?
I love meeting bloggers in my own area and the support and blogger education from this group has been amazing, so far. I'm excited for what's to come!

7. Who inspires you to blog?
Life :) My fiancé, daughter and our family and friends. I don't want to forget anything about our history together. This is the reason I'm finally getting more consistent with blogging!

8. If you could pick a favorite blog post from this past year, what would it be?
That's a tough one! 2013 has been such a good year for us. My fiancé and I celebrated 7 years together, our daughter turned 1 and I finally opened up about our future. It was nice to finally open up and be a little serious, I'm usually so full of sarcasm ;)

So, that's me!

I don't like being the center of attention (so says the person who blogs about herself. ha) -- No seriously, I hate it -- so tell me why you blog or the story behind your blog name (if you're not already participating in this link up of course ;)! I want to know about YOU.

If you're a Texas blogger too, click on the above graphic and join in!

I have to say I'm a little jealous that you've been able to live in the same place all your life. (Well...that's how I took the fact that you are born and raised in SA.) Moving wasn't horrible for me growing up, but I've had my fair share of it. And I like how you picked your blog name. So cute! I was wondering what that was about. So fun!

I actually kind of did the same thing, though not in list form, over at Boston.com as their Featured Mom Blogger - hope it's okay to link to it here: http://www.boston.com/community/forums/parents/featured-parent-blogger/general/i-know-how-is-babby-formed-monday-introduction/70/6780478

I started blogging to keep my family updated re: my pregnancy and then my kids!

I'm a blog in Texas as well (or at least currently, before we get our RV and travel the country). Austin to be specific. I've been looking for more bloggers in Texas to chat with.
